NEW EPR COMPLIANCE AGENCY FOR THE PETROLEUM INDUSTRY LAUNCHES IN UNITED STATES 

The leading Petroleum brandowners in the United States have launched the Lubricant Packaging Management Association (LMPA) powered by Interchange 360 to respond to the US Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) laws on behalf of the petroleum industry.  

LPMA Powered by Interchange 360 was founded by BP Lubricants USA, Inc. (Castrol), Chevron U.S.A. Inc., ExxonMobil Oil Corporation, Pennzoil-Quaker State d/b/a SOPUS Products (Shell) and VGP Holdings LLC (Valvoline) in response to the passage of EPR laws in several States.

Alert and responsive to stakeholder demands and aligned with environmental stewardship integrity, these five companies saw the need to develop a strategy to ensure petroleum and automotive products would be responsibly managed as EPR laws expand throughout the US. They share a dedication to sector leadership in response to a global initiative. 

LPMA Powered by Interchange 360 will address the EPR laws recently enacted in states such as Colorado, Oregon, California, Maine, and Vermont, while also preparing for future legislation in other states. 

Based in the US, this national, member-based, non-profit organization was developed with a purpose of providing EPR compliance options for its members and supporting the development of circular material management solutions for their petroleum-based and related products and packaging.  

LPMA worked with the National Lubricant Container Recycling Coalition (NLCRC) and Interchange Recycling to launch this initiative, which will aim to significantly increase the recycling rate of petroleum and automotive products and packaging to meet the recycling targets being set by states.
